Aahhh Autumn…my favourite time of year is upon us. There’s nothing better than saying goodbye to humid summer nights and waking up to a rustle from the morning breeze. Taking strolls around the city now seem pleasurable and before we know it, our long awaited picturesque trees of red & orange leaves will decorate our streets. And if that’s not worth the anticipation, I’m sure we all love dressing for the autumn season. The brown and reddish hues, jackets and knits will become the norm and our favourite plum lipsticks will all make its appearance really soon. Since I am currently in Seoul, where temperatures are still rather warm, I thought I’d share my transitional pieces in between seasons.
Vintage style plaid blazers seem to be all the hype right now, paired with jeans and a simple tee will have you looking casually chic in no time. Fashion enthusiasts are already sporting their blazers around town and I’m taking inspiration as I go. Although I really like this trend, I’ve stuck to my old faithful black blazer which I bought in Seoul a good few years ago.The cut of this blazer surprised me, as it is less structural and rather effortless, especially when you’re running around town. It’s a piece that always makes me feel put together and it’s perfect for the office or dinners out, basically anytime I need to look presentable.
Another old favourite, this pair in particular has seen me through and entire year and I’m still having fun styling them. I absolutely adore its rich brown colour because it’s incredibly easy to style with any other colour or print, which I think makes it such a versatile piece. Not to mention that it’s really pretty. They will continue to be a staple in my wardrobe this season.
Easy to throw on and off, scarves are essential for the colder months. I think everyone always tries to find that one scarf that they know they will wear to death during autumn/winter and I have no shortage of them. The scarf I’ve been recently obsessed with is this reddish brown pashmina which again, plays perfectly into the classic autumnal colours.
Accessories have a way of elevating an outfit, and if you’re wearing jeans and a simple high neck sweater then why not spruce it up with a wonderfully warm over sized scarf? That’s what I’ll be doing this month.
Probably the most boring piece from the lot but the simplicity of a high neck sweater makes for easy transitional dressing. I honestly feel like I have a ton’s worth of black high neck tops new to my wardrobe. I’m someone who starts dressing from the top down, if that makes sense. I know a lot of people base their outfit from the bottom up i.e. jeans, but I love a good black top. I mean they go with literally every type of bottoms in the world so once again, effortless autumnal pieces that’s easy to style.
And that’s it for my transitional autumn pieces. Hope you enjoyed this post and thanks for reading!
