Ahh there’s nothing like a new pair of denims to uplift your mood. But layered in cosy knitwear deserved a photograph, or two. These trendy cropped skinnies from Zara are actually not that ‘skinny’ as they don’t suffocate my joints to death, which is the very reason I am in love with them. It’s more of a relaxed skinny, which is emphasised by its loose fit above the ankle. I also adore the distressed detailing which adds a bit of character to the overall feel of the piece.
A piece I’ve been wearing even more is this jersey from H&M. It’s a lovely warm knit that doesn’t itch or scratch the neck line too much. Because it’s a dark shade of green I find it easy to throw on with literally anything & everything in my wardrobe, not to mention that I’m more of a moody dresser so dark colours are essential for leaving the house with clothes on. Not that I’m ever in the mood to walk outside naked. Where is this going? Let’s look at pictures.
I find adding some jewellery pieces such an easy way to edge up an outfit. And in case you haven’t noticed, there’s a giant pig on my finger which I’ve been loving. Now you might think that’s a weird piece to have made it into the finery but rest assured, I’m here to tell you that it is indeed weird. Most of my jewellery pieces hold a special meaning to me so I can’t speak about them without a lengthy monologue of the people who gave them to me. But this vulgar chunk of jewellery I gave to myself. Resembling one of the newer book covers of Lord of the Flies, this pig reminded me of Simon’s bewildered conversation with the the pig’s head and the jaw dropping moments shortly thereafter that led to the boys’ loss of innocence. If you’ve not read this book, do so now! It’s a powerful weighty read that is so compelling I’ve carried its impression on my hands.
Both rings were purchased at Aland in Myeongdong, South Korea. Earrings and bracelets were gifts from India, Namibia and Tanzania. Jersey – H&M, Cropped Skinny Jeans – Zara.
I love the outfit and the jewelery! So beautiful
